The Lore of Clan Fearghal
Clan Fearghal are an unlikely clan bound not by blood, but their ideals, their honour and by a intense shared history that has seen the loss of many good brothers and sisters. Yet with every death the Fearghal bond tightens, its ideals broaden and strengthen in the face of adversity. With roots grounded in Fearghal an Dun, the Stronghold of Fearghal, the Triath, his counsel and trusted entourage share a common lust for travelling, trade, ideas and to learn, to further the horizons of their people. The progressive ideals of the Fearghal leaders have often brought scorn, fear and violence from what the Fearghal's view as the less developed tribes of Cimmeria. For many in the sacred snowy hostile lands have grown bitter, their jealousy poorly disguised as anger and hate. Behind the Triath’s noble gates, sheltered from the cold heartless wildness beyond lies the warm comforts of the lands' greatest city and the humble beginnings of a new world. Can such a utopia exist in these hard times? That is for each and every Fearghal to decide.
War is a human condition in these times, and Clan Fearghal has seen its share of wars. Our history is heavily inter-woven with Set Mosis in a bloody setting where betrayal, lust for power, love and moments of glory and honour come together on an epic scale. The Circles within Clan Fearghal are the Crionna, the Ceò and the Fianna. Each is led by a Ringleader and his/her right hand the Master or Lady. Below you can gain a small insight into what these Rings offer, the inner workings of the counsel of Clan Fearghal. When you join Clan Fearghal (see section below for details) you will be allowed to seek apprenticeship in one of these circles. Roughly put the Crionna is the Circle of our shamans, priests, sorcerers and wise men and women who seek to further the progressive nature of the Clan. The Ceò is the Circle of our most able scouts, spies and deadliest assassins often following there own agenda, doing the less favourable tasks yet under the strict Fearghal oath. The Fianna is the Elite of the Elites, men and woman from all circles dedicated to the protection and safety of the Fearghal Council. These are but three circles within the family that dwell in the Fearghal an Dun. However the Red walls of the city are long and the city is growing, and with it brings a host of weary travellers, refugees each with their own purpose and desire in life… |

The Triath's Council
The Fearghal council - the leading forum - are a group of very different types. Albeit IC'ly they are the authoritative body of power in Fearghal, OOC'ly all important decisions are discussed and decided upon on our forums democratically. We use the in-game ranks almost entirely as an OOC indicator of activity (e.g. a player who is very active, but plays a character who holds no IC authority can still be Stratego).
The newly appointed Triath, Helshad, is the powerful leading figure of Clan Fearghal. He is known to be a fair, highly motivated man. His dedication and loyalty to Clan Fearghal is second to none.
Akselvee, the Saoi or spiritual leader, sitting at the head of the council is a gentle man, whose dedication and wise spiritual council to his kinsmen and strangers alike has placed him sitting at the Council at a very young age. After his father, former Triath Oculus' death he reluctantly assumed a period as Triath in the family, leading his people in life to find the balance that nature holds for all. A great healer of the lands and people alike. Saddly he too will depart for a journey of his own , leaving the land and people he held dear behind in quest of knowledge and wisdom.
Commander Albinus , leader of the Fianna, often offers his advice on matters regarding the safety and wellfare of the people of Fearghal un Dun. A man of many martial merits.
Teleia , ringleader of the Ceò, one of the most shady characters amongst the family of the Fearghals offers her information and keen eye for danger, all in the name of the clan, before decisions are to be made.
Silvara, Ringleader of the Crionna, our wise men and women, and her most trusted cohort offer their guidance and vast knowledge of the arcane an esoteric arts. It is also the Crionna that safeguard the most treasured and valuable of all Clan Fearghal's resources: their library. Saddly enough , she lately has been defeated by her inner demons and word is that she soon will be replaced. |

The Fianna
Becoming a Fianna means to set aside great parts of your own life to the service of the Clan. Some individuals who have first made it through the ranks of the Fianna, tested by time and sacrifice can rise even further and become Crimson Guard. As you become a Crimson Guard, you must swear an oath to always protect the Clan and its leaders from any enemy, and be ready to sacrifice one's life for the defense of the Clan and its leaders. Becoming a Crimson Guard also has its perks. A regular payment, permanent quarters in the Barracks and unlimited access to books, maps and forges in the name of the service. Its members are regarded as elders and us such dictate military policy directly to the Counsels’ ears. They are the envy of Great Fearghal Dun and their name is often remembered far from the cold lands of Cimmeria. In battle the evenly spaced armored figure with his heavy blood stained cloak whipping in the wind is a slight to behold. They are the fortitude of strength, the very meaning of leadership and to their enemies the gatekeeper of hell in Hyboria.
It also has it downside. Your loved ones must always come in second to the protection and needs of the greater family. The Clan is the single most important object in a Fianna's life. Most days will be spent in drilling, exercising and training the body, mind and use of weapons. Together with the mighty Fianna, the Guard prepare for strife, bloodshed and an eventual honorable death in the service of the Clan. Your very blood signs your contract and dishonor is punished by death. Wearing the Red cape around the Dun is a symbol power, respect and leadership but most importantly it is sacrifice. |

The Ceò
The Ceò of Clan Fearghal focuses on much more on the quiet tasks, like spying and assassination. The members of the Ceò often keep their identity and role to themselves, since their lives are usually at stake. Even though dedicated to the Triath, the Ceò is quite an independent group, often playing by their own rules. Men and women who wish to join their ranks should not be afraid of death, or getting into tight situations, and are required to be smart enough to get out of them. Currently led by Teleia, the Ceò will surely give people the adventure they thirst for. The Céo of Clan Fearghal is not a single person, nor is it a vast group of players. The Céo is a fluid group of friend’s unseen and dedicated to each other and the way of life they have come to love.
There are many rumours as to the origin of the Ceò yet none are accurate. Like the mist it is named after it moves unseen, it appears and fades without trace. It falls through your fingers leaving nothing but a chill down your spine. Some say the founding Athair created the Ring to safeguard the Clans ideals from a multitude of growing influences and even its self if necessary. Others whisper stories suggesting the very essence of the Ceò came before even the first founders formed Fearghal, from the very mist of the lifeless fields of which the first keystone of the Dun was placed. Becoming a member of this Ring is to begin a journey one cannot turn back from often giving your life for someone or something you will never understand.
Becoming apart of The Céo of Clan Fearghal is for the player wishing to delve deeper into what the server of Aquilionia was created for. Players interested in one aspect of the game rather than the other need not apply. We are often the RP ‘play makers’ of Fearghal putting our characters into truly dangerous RP situations. Its impossible to describe in a sentence the essence of the Céo as this can only be discovered when you find yourself one. To the very few that sympathise I’d say welcome brother for you are already Céo. Now act like it. |

The Crionna
Clan Fearghal's free thinking spirit often found refuge under the wing of the Crionna; the wise. A weird combination of open minded scholars and wisemen, shunned from their own communities due to ignorance or fear, created a fundament of free thinking, honour and the wish to combine the two, for future generations to thrive on.
Under the leadership of the Saoi’s wife, they would, if they swore allegiance to the Fearghal ideal of honor and justice, be accepted into the family as the Crionna of Fearghal, the Wise. Silvara, being herself a woman of the world, had seen enough of Hyboria's splendors to know that relying solely on Cimmerian technology would be a waste. Their knowledge of the esoterical practice of medicine and surgery had proven their worth on more than one occasion.
Aquilonian craftsmen, Stygian sages, people from all around Hyboria … do you think you have the curiosity and ingenuity needed to match the innovative imagination of the Crionna?

The Family
Clan Fearghal has always consisted of various types of people, regardless of origin or colour, that were brought together under the values of Honor and Family pride. A weird looking group of misfits and outcasts to most of the Cimmerian clans of the icy North, Fearghals have a unique way of supporting each other through all. Their open minded philosophy welcomes everyone into their rank, finding use in every unique trait we all possess. Through this strange union, a strong family emerges from the Dun, to prosper and dominate the Lacheish planes.
Not all Fearghals’ take the path down one of the dangerous circles, not all are able too for various reasons. Not all of the Fearghal family even reside within the tall walls of Fearghal An Dun. There are many scattered across the land whether under another guise, hiding or simple chasing warmer climates. The values of Fearghal transcend anyone city, faith or time yet each has their own important role in furthering the Clans influence, protecting its values and safeguarding its future. As such Fearghal employs many more unseen, less obvious but by no means less important, for these are often the unsung heroes of the Clan who without their help, trade, information the thriving City of the Triath would have perished long ago.
You may even be connected to the Fearghal family in one way or another already… There is plenty of scope for the Role-Player to become involved in any number of positions or roles. |
