Through the gloom of the sewers the figure strides along the walkway, moving swiftly whilst glancing over his shoulder every few steps. After rounding the last corner he is greeted by what appears to be a collapsed part of the system, debris and earth blocking the rest of the tunnel. Sighing silently to himself, he runs his hand along the left most part of the tunnel until a groove in the wall is felt. Sliding his foot across the ground he begins to gently press down on a section of the cement. A portion of the floor begins to slowly descend as he continues to step lightly on the pressure pad, waiting for four soft clicks to emit from the groove in the wall. at the same time as the fourth click is emitted, he shunts the wall with his shoulder, which begins slide across to reveal a stone stairwell leading downward.
Following the torchlight which embalmed the stairwell, missing every 3rd and 5th step on his descent, he enters the darkened room at the bottom and bolts the door behind him. A voice, deep and almost muffled, begins to speak behind him.
"Ah, it's been long overdue for a report... What name do you go by this time?"
"Larius." the figure says automatically and perhaps slightly too quickly. Turning around slowly he squints to see a hooded figure sitting at an old and dilapidated table,
"You know, 'Larius', I've never met anyone as paranoid as you." he nods his head at him. "Sit."
"I prefer the word determined." He said almost bored, examining the room within "Determined to not be caught out, determined not to be careless. And it has worked well for me thus far" he said with cold, polite, pointedness with an undertone of impatience.
"I care not of your ways nor your methods, as long as their are results." The hooded figure clears his throat. "What have you gathered?"
Sighing softly, Larius rubs his face with his hands before speaking. "For the most part they are quiet people, residing within the Lacheish Plains. I was sceptical at first, they were all too quick to allow me into their ranks, ready to give up their Keep's location to me without so much as verbal background check." Larius looks up at the hooded figure for a moment, whom remains motionless. "..But it appears my caution was in vain, as the map was correct." He withdraws a scrolled up piece of parchment from his pouch and places it on the table for the hooded figure to take.
"This is a start indeed. What other information do you have?"
"The clan have one leader and are split into 3 archetypes. The archetypes each play a different role which benefit them as a whole. Simply, like different guilds. I've been assigned to a branch called the 'Ceo', which specializes in espionage and assassinations it seems."
The voice from under the hood gives a gruff laugh. "Naturally."
"Indeed." Larius mutters. "The one i report to does not speak alot, nor have i had the chance to speak to her outside of their official business. I will need more time to investigate what i am going up against before i perform any action against them."
"You're fortunate that I have time to spare on the matter. I will insist that you commit the assassination at your earliest convenience however."
Larius gives the hooded figure a cold hard stare. "As you wish, but i will need more time as i said. They are rather attached to each other from what i have observed at a funeral. Taking a life from one of them will not go unnoticed or unanswered."
"I am not paying you to voice your concerns to me." The hooded figure growls at him. "Just get it done."
Larius stands up slowly, exhaling softly as he speaks. "Yes, of course. I have not failed you people yet, and i will not on this occasion. Now i must take the next wagon back to Conarch Village. I will return when i have more to speak of, or when the mission is complete."
The hooded figure reaches for his waistband, untucking a pouch and tosses it on the table in-front of Larius. "Part payment as agreed. Now leave."
Snatching the pouch off the table, Larius heads back for the door and ascends the stairwell.
